Business Details
I’m an aspiring civil/environmental engineer passionate about using science, storytelling, and community to create lasting change. While my journey into sustainability and advocacy began recently, it’s already reshaping how I see the world and my role in it. I care deeply about climate justice, education equity, and the power of youth leadership. I'm eager to learn, take action, and grow alongside others who are just as committed to building a better, more sustainable future.
Whether it’s through writing, research, or grassroots engagement, I’m exploring how small efforts can lead to meaningful impact. I'm still early in my path, but I'm not waiting to make a difference, I’m starting now.
Project/Capstone
Evaluating the Effectiveness of Locally Available, Low-Cost Soil Protection Methods for Reducing Soil Degradation in Kaduna Using NDVI Satellite Monitoring. My Capstone Project focuses on curbing soil degradation in my community, Kaduna, Nigeria. The idea of the research paper is to fill the knowledge gap in terms of monitoring how effective soil protection methods are in different areas within the state. This would help farmers to identify which areas are thriving and which areas are not and what new soil protection method they can adopt instead. Although NDVI Satellite Monitoring usually works for larger areas, I hope to use my project as a framework for application on a larger scale in the future
Future Goals/Next Steps
To complete my research paper, create more awareness on the project, and get the research paper published by next year. With the knowledge acquired, I will certainly apply this in my studies as an environmental engineer. I learned so much from the program especially about the balance betwen the social, economic and environmental pillars. This has exposed me on how to apply that to any future projects I work on.
